Powerplant Maintenance Specialist Inc.
Mr. Michael Medock has invaluable experience and judgment related to utility and industrial practices, preferences and procedures. This knowledge and hands-on experience brings a developed judgment to both company and project by establishing priorities and reacting appropriately to insure project success in completing the total Design, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management and Operation.
As a result of our experience with ESA on the Huntington Beach project, we saved millions in EPC costs over traditional project financed deals and this was due in large part to ESA's creative management and design efforts and their careful attempts to maintain schedule and costs.
Huntington Beach Units 3 & 4 Rework
PMSI, along with ESA, was selected by AES as contractor to redesign and replace two super-critical
steam generators and rebuild two 225-megawatt high pressure turbine generator units. In addition, all of the auxiliary equipment and systems were upgraded or replaced with the latest technology. The Control System was replaced by installing a new central distribution control system, including new steam turbine generator controls. The SCR and CO systems designed, installed and guaranteed are the cleanest burning plant in California to date.
PMSI expended 929,111 man-hours on this project during a 18 month construction schedule, at times
operating 2 shifts a day, employing totaling over 1,000 men.
PMSI teamed with ESA as the general contractor for an FGD upgrade for three (3) 800 MW CE units at Westar’s Jeffrey Energy Center. Other co-endeavors with ESA include the following:
- Dayton Power & Light:
- JM Stuart 2440 MW Coal Fired Generating Station
- Killen 600 MW Coal Fired Generating Station
- OH Hutchings 446 MW Generating Station
- Scherer 3564 MW Coal Fired Generating Station Precipitator Project
- AEP Northeastern 1804 MW Coal and Gas Fired Electric Generating Station
PMSI is comfortable writing on ESA's behalf because of the excellent work they did for us. We hope you can find a place for them in your next job, you won't regret it.
